Our client, a global leading consultancy, are seeking a Programme Manager with a strong background in Oracle.

Responsibilities

The successful Consulting Programme Manager has responsibility for the successful delivery of assigned Programmes, working closely with key stakeholder both internally and with our clients; The main areas of responsibility are:

  • Definition, creation and management of the governance for programmes, drawing on the clients delivery methodology and experiences as appropriate

  • Provide programme and project management advice and best practice to the Programme Director, and Programme Board guiding them on appropriate governance; decision making routes; risk and issue management and programme and project roles.

  • Lead and manage the delivery of programme objectives and key deliverables, providing advice at a senior level on complex issues, making recommendations for preventative or corrective actions to the Programme Director.

  • Lead the management of programme risks, issues, interdependencies and interfaces to limit the impact of programme slippage and overall risk exposure.

  • Lead the management of programme budgets and ensures that the budget monitoring and planning information is prepared in a timely and accurate manner and that budgets are contained within cash limits.

  • Set standards for project and programme management across the programme, in alignment with the clients standards, processes and best practice.

  • Continue to refine and ratify the revenue budget for the programme, ensuring appropriate financial monitoring and reporting.

  • Oversee programme reporting, including setting reporting standards, monitoring the progress of projects and workstreams within the programme managing dependencies and ensuring ownership of actions and activities.

  • Attend the Programme Board for the presentation of the monthly programme dashboard report and provide an update on programme risk and issues. Provide advice and guidance to Executives on programme and project best practice.

  • Oversee the Programme Management Office, with accountability for the successful coordination and administration of all programme level governance forums

  • Review project and workstream reporting to ensure that formal reports align with anecdotal and physical evidence of projects health and status. Support project leads in the resolution of risks and issues, promoting cross programme working and collaboration.

  • Define the assurance strategy for the programme, ensuring that assurance gates and checkpoints are applied, and appropriate reviews carried out.

    Key Skills

  • Educated to a degree level or possess equivalent relevant experience

  • Qualification in PPM, PRINCE2, MSP etc. or other recognised project and Programme management methodologies

  • Proven Project and Programme Management experience (10-15 years) on complex, multimillion-pound transformational programmes (£5-10M)

  • Proven track record in staff development and driving performance

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally to a wide range of people at all levels including complex and/or technical issues to non-specialists

  • Understands financial information, managing Programme finances.

  • Successful track record of managing a multi-disciplinary team to achieve Programme objectives.

  • Takes decisive, sometimes tough, and appropriate managerial action after considering all the options and implications.

  • Strong sense of accountability and prepared to take ownership of problems and issues to deliver a prompt, satisfactory outcome
