Procurement Projects and Operations Manager

Role Purpose

  • Ensure Procurement Operations has effective, efficient and value adding routines and processes in place which successfully deliver excellent customer service across all Group entities.

  • Assume operational responsibility or ownership for relevant activities which support the effectiveness of the Group Procurement function.

  • Work closely with the offshore ProcOps team in Sri Lanka and ensure a high standard of service, productivity and support is provided by that team, as well as support the Head of Procurement Operations in activity to increase/improve their scope of service.

  • Within the broader Group Procurement function, this role has a wide ranging and varied scope which impacts on sourcing and non-sourcing aspects of Procurement's service. It represents an exciting and unique challenge for an individual who enjoys the complexity and breadth that a Procurement Operations specialism brings.

    Strategy and Project focused Procurement Position

  • Support the Head of Procurement Operations in defining new Procurement Operations processes and the continual review and improvement of existing processes - oversee the successful implementation of those into BAU, where necessary, including the identification and transition of activities to offshore resources where appropriate.

  • Prepare project related documentation such as PIDS, process mapping, project plans, and risks registers for Procurement Operations led projects managed through formal PMO governance.

  • Project manage change initiatives on behalf of the Procurement Operations team and the wider Group Procurement team if necessary.

  • Support Procurement in meeting its SLAs for global (internal) customers including management of Procurement mailboxes and incoming support requests in a timely fashion.

  • Champion exceptional customer service and efficiency within Procurement and lead by example for other team members.

  • Provide sufficient day to day oversight of and intervention to Procurement Operations processes to ensure high levels of customer service are delivered by the team at all times.

  • Support the implementation of global processes that will enable the Procurement team to evolve in time to best in class from current maturity level.

  • Own Procurement's P2P requirements on behalf of the team, working with Finance and other stakeholders as necessary to influence and improve P2P systems/processes as needed.

  • Support the Head of Procurement in development of appropriate policies, frameworks and other standards (including public disclosures such as a Modern Slavery Statement).

  • Day to day ownership and oversight of activities which support the Group in complying with Procurement's Policies and Controls Framework; support the implementation of appropriate frameworks and controls both within the Procurement team and the business as needed.

    Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of tactical support to Procurement teams across the full Procurement and P2P cycle including creation of RFP documents, administration of eSourcing tools, development of savings methodologies, knowledge of Purchase Order and invoicing processes. Understanding of how a successful Procurement team functions is essential.

  • Experience of implementing and managing Procurement policies, risk and controls and a good understanding/background of managing third party risk is essential (in a financial services environment is desired).

  • Experience of using and managing Procurement and P2P systems is essential
