Payroll Specialist

Role Outline

At the core of the role is an ability to analyse the existing and future state of a department and systems, including their business processes, accountabilities, business rules and operating procedures and to come up with recommendations.

Document business requirements needed to support the evolving business processes of Allegis Groups staffing business. Collaborate with the Business / Project Sponsor in identifying and defining a project need, gathering information, process creation and proposal, and project rollout and implementation.

Co-ordinate with other BA team members to ensure a consistent approach is used across the organisation. Working closely with support teams to identify gaps, redundancies, ultimately optimizing and developing prescribed solutions for process improvement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Processing monthly payrolls across multiple European countries

  • Responsible for own payroll accounts as well as working in a team environment building strong relationships with payroll providers

  • Independently auditing commission reports and answering related employee queries

  • Partnering with internal departments to collate payroll variables

  • Responsible for monthly reporting

  • Reconcile monthly journal entries and taxes with Finance

  • Understand and apply current legislation changes to all payrolls

  • Cross train on all European payrolls within the team

  • Maintain up to date with internal policies

  • Complete project related work as it pertains to your countries

  • Carrying out ad-hoc tasks as required by the Payroll Manager

    Skills and behaviours

  • 2+ years of Payroll experience

  • Experience of supporting European payroll would be desirable but not essential

  • Fully PC literate with good Excel skills

  • Aptitude for continual learning and development with different systems and

  • High level of accuracy and efficiency

  • Excellent time management and administration skills

  • Good customer service skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
